What is a compound sentence?

A compound sentence is formed when two independent clauses are joined by using a coordinating conjunction. A compound sentence is a group of words that acts presses a complete thought.
It begins with a capital letter and ends with a punctuation mark. A compound sentence is basically made up of two sentences joined by a comma and connecting words such as, as, or, but, and they tie together similar ideas the two sentences are not dependent upon one another. It means that each one of them has its own subject predicate and expresses a complete thought.

Creating a compound sentence allows me to express ideas at once so a compound sentence is when you glue two sentences together and the special kind of glue you need is called a coordinating conjunction. That is a great way to remember it it is also important to note that a comma should always be placed before the coordinating conjunction when forming a compound
