 pronoun definition 

In simple words, Pronoun is a word which is used in place of noun 


Example 

He, we, it, this, what, someone, myself, etc.

1. Personal Pronoun :- 


Personal Pronoun is word used to represent a specific person, place or thing.

2. Demonstrative Pronoun :- 


This, that, these, and those are Demonstrative Pronoun. they stand alone in subject place.

Example 

This is red ball

Those are my novels

3. Interrogative Pronoun :-


 What, who, which, when, whom are Interrogative pronoun.

 Interrogative pronoun is used to ask questions it stands alone in subject place. 

Example 

What are you doing ?

Who is your teacher ?


4. Relative Pronoun :- 


 Relative Pronoun is used to connect a clause or phrase to a noun or pronoun.

who, which, whom, whose are examples of relative pronoun.

they are used in statements.

Example 

Ravi, whose father is a pilot. is my bestfriend.

This is the place Where we met.


5. Indefinite Pronoun :- 


 An Indefinite Pronoun doesn’t refer any specific person, place or thing.

Example

Someone, No-one, everything some, al, somewhere, nothing, nobody etc.

6. Possessive Pronoun :- 


My, our, your, her, his, its and their are possessive pronouns

they are used to show ownership

Example

This is my book

I stayed in his home

Give me your pen


7.  Reflexive Pronoun :- 


 There are two reciprocal pronoun they are ‘each other’ and  ‘one another’ 

each other is used for  two persons Ram and Shyam are helping  each other 

 one another is used for more than two persons 

People help one another in the village.
