when we join two singular nouns or pronouns with ‘and’ they become plural and therefore they take a plural verb.
Singular verb – am, his, has, was, does, eats, writes, plays, etc.
Plural verbs – are, have, do, were, write, play, eat, etc.
Common verb – In Singular and Plural both – did, had, will, shall
