THE SHORT - STORY OF BETWEEN MOSQUE & THE TEMPLES. Mosque is a place of worship for followers of Islam.
 and the Temple is a structure which is reserved for spiritual or religious activities.




 This story is all about the problems between Hindus and Muslims regarding the place of dustbin .this story opens with character BANU waking up in the morning she is the chairperson of sanitation committee.
 Banu finds the servant for cleaning the house. she gets up & dresses herself in simple clothes and simple shoes.  she does not wear any jewelry .
 then Banu  offers a special prayers as she is going to attend to a problem between the Hindus & Muslim . & in evening she comes out of her house and meets 2 members of the committee . 
instead  of taking the car Banu decides to walk citing that the place is not too far . as the 2 members support her Banu feels overjoy . then on their way to the place where the meeting was to take a place , Banu meets a few children who call her Banubai . on being asked where she going Banu suddenly remembers Gandhi`s salt march . she asked the students to join her . 
 the group who joined her had a students from both the religion , i.e , Muslims as well as Hindus ,on the way students asked others to join as well as a result the walk started to look like a parade or a procession. when Banu reached the spot, she had a large crowd following her.
    At the spot, there were leaders from both Muslims and Hindu clans,along with their followers . Hindu leader was surprised to see that , who is the head of committee .he did not know what to do .
Banu came up with a solution & said that she would walk for the mosque to the temple and her steps  between the two should be continued .the dustbin would be placed exactly at the centers . she started walking and the Hindu leader counting  there were 232 step between the mosque and the temple . Banu ordered to place the dustbin at the 116th step . the Hindu leader felt happy . the Muslim leader also nodded his head in argument .
